Y. David Chung Projects - Film and Video

Y. David Chung began his career working in 16mm and 35mm post-production as a film graphic artist and animator. Chung created watercolor and hand-painted cell animation for shooting on rostrum cameras. He specialized in creating camera movements on still images and optical printers. Often collaborating with composer Pooh Johnston, Chung has created short video projections with sound for exhibition installations. In 2007, Chung completed a feature-length, historical documentary film with Matt Dibble titled, "Koryo Saram", about the legacy of the mass deportations of Koreans to Central Asia in 1937. He is currently working on a film project about North Korea.
