"The Wishing Tree" was performed at the Kasteev State Museum of Art in Almaty, Kazakhstan in June, 1999. The opera follows the story of a young Kazakh woman , the daughter of a shepherd, who is torn between her new life in the city and the nomadic traditions of her family. |
